I mainly acquire domains to create minisites. I primarily register domains. I mainly buy domains under $100. My prefered extensions: com, net, org, info, biz, us, me, no, se, de My preferences: medical, diy, house decoration, sports
I consider any purchase offer. Some sold names: slankeoperasjon.com $2900 BIO: Web long-timer: Was responsible for building big websites in Europe since 1995 (Yellow Pages, Government sites, e-commerce sites). Was VP Product at Kelkoo for 4 years and VP Products for Yahoo! Europe for two years before starting up the Norwegian venture company Ignitas. I started buying domain names to test different methods of parking and a domain name based way of creating commercially oriented leads. Based on good test results we launched our start-up Commercial Microportals in April 2010. We now believe we have a different and future-oriented minisites platform that will allow domainers to a) make money on their domains while b) adding real value to the domains since our minisites are not simple parkjing pages but thematic, content-rich sites, based on creating 10-30 good thematic keywords per domain. We also find our platform provide an excellent way of prospecting which domains have potential for further (manual) development. Now and then we sell a domain but for us it's more icing the cake than a viable business given our focus on development.
